Case History 1:
Mrs A
Aged 55
Married with two children at private school
Client approached FIM for advice after accumulating, over the years, a collection of unit trusts and also recently inheriting a portfolio of securities from her late mother's estate.
Having agreed the principal investment aims, FIM developed an investment strategy capable of meeting her long-term financial objectives. A review of the client's investments was conducted and an appropriate investment scheme was agreed and implemented which included a provision for future school fees.
Case History 2:
Mr and Mrs B
A retired couple with a reasonable pension augmented by investment income from a portfolio of securities.
On the recommendation from a satisfied FIM client friend, they asked FIM to manage their investments. Both were unhappy with the impersonal service they were receiving from their existing advisor.
FIM appointed a senior manager to the account, arranged for the fast and efficient transfer of securities to its management. A review of investment was carried out and appropriate changes made.
Case History 3:
Following the successful sale of a valuable property, the trustees of Small Self Administered Pension Scheme wished to re-invest the proceeds on a long-term basis and a search for a suitable investment manager was undertaken. Having interviewed a number of potential managers, FIM were selected as investment managers on the basis of its overall understanding of the trustees' needs. A long-term strategy and an appropriate asset allocation proposal was subsequently agreed and implemented.
Case History 4:
The trustees of a charitable fund advertised publicly for new investment managers. Following attendance at a formal "beauty parade" the charity's investment committee unanimously agreed to select FIM on the basis that the "FIM proposals showed a proper understanding of what the Fund is about". An agreed investment programme has since been implemented to meet the Fund's objectives.
