Fieldings Investment Management (FIM) was created in1989 by Mr Robert Bourne, a former partner in the City stockbrokers Fielding Newson Smith. Originally operating as sole trader he was soon joined by others including a number of his former colleagues and a partnership was formed in 1992. Reflecting its growth, FIM was incorporated as a limited company in 1994.

As a relatively young company, FIM has been able to develop its investment management process and administration systems to reflect it's clients' requirements, using where appropriate a combination of cost-effective outsourcing arrangements with leading City practitioners as well as its own internal research and development.

Furthermore, against a background of consolidation and retrenchment within the fund management industry, FIM has continued to be an attractive career proposition for experienced investment managers with proven track records and client relationships.

The principal aim of the post "Big Bang" formulation of FIM remains the same today as it did then - to provide investors with a truly personal and independent investment management service unencumbered by conflicts of interests or external corporate pressures. FIM's loyal client base and its continuing growth though personal recommendations and referrals is a testament to the success of this policy.
